Is there any way I could raise the water level in the DT?it looks like some rimless are higher (water level) then mine

Increase the rate of flow from the sump. (it looks like the tank is still in the photo? It's probably higher with the return pump on.)

Raise the height of the bottom of the weir (affix small acrylic strip behind the overflow.)

thanks guys i do plan on using the vortechs for the wave action & koralia 2 for surface/shimmer effect for the led.also, the weir is raised to the top but far as the flow rate i got a mag 5 for the main pump should i get a bigger pump?

I'd leave it as is man. You would be surprised at the size of the wave you can get with Vortechs or a Tunze Wave Box.

To all Rimless owners: Any regrets?

I love the style and looks and may be ordering a 60x30x24 rimless from Coasttocoast, but before doing so want to be aware of any disadvantages. Basically this 187 gallon custom tank (stand not included) would cost the same as a Marineland DD 300 gallon with stand.

I think you need to consider the overall interior design of the space where the tank will be placed. How well would the rimless fit into the decor of your space? Some people just prefer the looks of a stand / canopy while others have a strong preference for the rimless look. I had a tank with a custom canopy and stand built a number of years ago and that fit well in the room where I had that tank. My next tank will probably be a rimless because the room it will be placed in can pull it off well. I also like the fact that rimless tanks allow heat to disapate rather than being trapped in a canopy and constantly trying to exhaust the heat out from under a canopy. Finally, I wouldn't buy a bigger tank just because it may be less expensive than a smaller, custom tank. I would make that decision based on which tank will look better in the context of the room where it will reside. Just my 2 cents.
