Beautiful job on skinning the steel stand! Do you have a build thread on how you did that? I've got an AGE steel stand I'd like to cover at some point myself.

Thanks. It was a lot of planning/trial and error to get it just right.
Here is my build thread.

If you have any questions just post on my build thread and I will answer so everyone can see.
Thanks again.

Are those slides for the front doors fairly easy to install? I would like to do the same on my stand.
Great build by the way - very sharp looking system!

Thanks for the compliments.
They are extremely easy to install, they are just drawer slides.
I was really nervous about them supporting the weight of the door, but it is not even an issue. They could easily support double the weight.

All of the doors are completely removable which makes it nice when needing to access the sump. The canopy can be raised to the ceiling to allow complete access to the top as well.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

these pictures really doesnt do the tank any justice. the stand doors will go in after the sump and plumbing is done.

Let me know what you guys think so far... All feedback encouraged !

Hi Guys.

I'm currently having a 48x22x18 Rimless Tank made. Center Overflow (83g).

I want to keep a mix reef, LPS, SPS and some fish. I was wondering if I should get a 8x54 (ATI or TEK) light fixture, or if you thought this would be too much, and just get the 6x54.

Looking forward to joining the club. The tank is 4 weeks away!

Cheers

If you go ATI I would go with 6, Tek 8. Another option, especially for increased variability, is purchasing a used Aquactinics Constellation which uses 7 bulbs on three switches. Bulbs 1-4-7, 2-6, 3-5 and is equipped with two cooloing fans. Great fixture but no longer manufactured. Shoot this question over to Grim on the T5 Q&A thread, if you haven't already, for some extra input. Good luck with the new setup !

Thanks for that info. I was thinking of the Tek as it's a little cheaper, but i've heard great things about the ATI...i'll send Grim a email. Out of the two ATI, would you suggest going for the Powermodule fixture or, the sunpower.

Cheers CRD.
