Ive seen guys build a brace along the inside bottom of the tank to help, I don't know how much that actually would help but its an idea.

I am having a 45X27X20 (1/2" Glass) being bulit by Reef Savy in Miami. Felix is using a brace along the inside of the bottom as you described.

Finally got some pics of my new rimless I've had for a few months ... of course it's still dry as I finish up my 268G and reconfigure the fishroom.

It's going to be a shallow look down tank for my Acan, Favia and Micro collection. It came from Miracles and is 42x30x20.

The stand is still being completed and the nano to the right is being moved so the rimless can slide into its place.

Here's the tank in relation to my 268G. The door you see goes into my fishroom.

Where did you find that awesome neon sign?

Hello everyone.

I recently sold my 300 gallon tank and would like to go with a smaller rimless tank. I like the look. I could use some help.

I want to be in the 75 to 100 gallon range but am not sure of the following.

Where should I buy tank, stand and sump????
What size is ideal? I was thinking 5' lenght would be good for my hippo tang.... I want to light it with LED to keep electric down and heat down.

Your suggestions are greatly appreciated. I was looking at Glass Cages but I think i recall people not liking them for some reason.....

If you're going with a 60" long tank, I don't think you should limit yourself to 75-100 gallons. For example, 60" x 24" x 20" is a really nice set of dimensions and totals 125 gallons. That's not significantly more than your 100 gallon limit and really wouldn't require much more work. But it's still way less than your old 300 gallon. As for manufacturer, hopefully someone on the east coast can chime in with recommendations.

These are the dimensions I have been looking at. Although, I'm getting a bit nervous about the braceless/rimless design. Anyone have any recommendations outside of Elos for these types of tanks. Meaning, people that build the tanks and know what to expect and how to setup them up for maximum safety?

Can I join the club? I finally got the tank on the stand tonight. I made the stand last weekend. My goal is to have a mixed reef with mostly LPS and some SPS. The tank dimensions are 36" x 30" x 16" 75gallon +/-. I hope to transfer everything over from my 65RR this weekend. Thanks.

Update time. I enjoy rimless tanks! I recently saw a rimless 48"l x 30" d x 16"H at a LFS and I was very impressed. <a href="http://s688.photobucket.com/albums/vv241/dlindesey/?action=view&current=SAWDUST052911.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv241/dlindesey/SAWDUST052911.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Landy,
Thats a nice stand you have. I like the tile work. Is that aluminum angle on the outside corner of the tank. Is it for strength or looks?

Jgross,
I like seeing your tank. It has a less is more theme IMO.
