Rimless Aquarium Club

Who is the company? What glass was Reef Savvy going to use? Did you get any other quotes? Try Planet Aquariums or Miracles. You can get other price points and see what size glass they use. If they all use 3/4" then I would assume that is best.
Reef Savvy rimless glass is 3/4. Coast To Coast is 1/2(euro brace). Custom Aquariums 1/2 (rimless) .So you see where my confusion is coming from.I think They all have their own standards based off industries standards.I am not sure but I will contact planet Aquariums and miracles. Thanks!

I think they will both tell you 3/4" if you want rimless. I think 1/2" rimless would be risky.

The math this calculator is based on assumes that all panes are supported on all four sides. That means either Euro bracing or a top frame.
Any input on my tank? the tank itself is 72wx30dx24h starphire glass. What should the thickness be? Is there a calculator for it?
Not really. The only reason I know about that formula is that I tracked it back to the guy who created it and that's what he said.

I've never seen any sort of calculator to determine a safety factor for an unsupported rimless tank, nor have I found anything on how to determine what size Eurobracing is needed for a given thank.

There must be some way to figure these things out, but I'm no engineer.

Hello,

I've read hundreds of posts but was hoping y'all could help answer if this is possible:

-Standard 240g rimless reef tank with no center brace (both on stand and on tank)?

If so, what builders do yall recommend? I live in Austin TX

Reef Savvy

Thanks guys. It seems like Reef Savvy is one of the most recommended. Do they ship to your doorstep? Also, if I may pick y'alls brain a little more:

- Did you just use a program like Sketchup, to map out your tank, sump, overflow, plumbing, then send the pic to them? Or do you just get on the phone and start describing what you like?

-What is the deal with the 1' foam layer? Is that recommended just for shipping or at final placement? Do they ship directly to your door?

- Any other reccos on making this process most efficient? It sounds like it will require a 5-6 month lead time

Setting up this one.
135x800x55cm display with Synergy Shadow 16" overflow.
