You can hang a light hood over a rimmed tank just as easily as over a rimless one. I built a wooden cap to go over the black plastic trim and it looks terrific.
I got 99 problems, but a rimless tank isn't one because I love it.
It offers a "cleaner", more minimalist look. No bulky canopy and like the above post, it gives you the chance to get a clear top down look. I love the look of a rimless tank but we have cats....I'd never run the risk.
Remember those faux wood panel walls you used to find in people's houses? That's what tanks with rims remind me of. It's just not appealing though some still have them.
you're all wrong...
no matter what, ALL tanks have a "rim"
HAHAH

LOL, that is true. It's a "Trimless" tank, not rimless.
I don't know where the rimless term came from.
Reminds me of when people say they got new rims for their car.
I want to ask them why they didn't get the spokes?
Because every one of them owns a set of one-piece wheels, not two or three piece.

Well if we are going down that road (rim/car reference), how about the concept of a Clownfish hosting an anemone? It should be guesting!

Ahh.. you have to be into things that are overpriced and exaggerated capabilities?
I always have to laugh when I hear someone bring up "german engineering".
You know what's funny is that all BMW X class vehicles are made in Spartanburg, SC. A German engineering company relying on US production facilities relying on southern belles and gentlemen to build cars that will be shipped back to Germany (and around the world) and sold as German cars.
Oh, the irony.
