Rinsing live rock

I'm using the LR from my125 for my 40 gal nano. The rock has a lot of sand inside, can I rinse the rock in rodi water for a a few and place in tank? Thanks

John, a quick rinse OK but still "might" cause some die off so just be aware.
Need that sand I offered?

Thanks Vinny going to try barebottom. May just use salt water.

John give it a good rinse and shake in saltwater. Unless your trying to kill pests I would just use SW

I fill a tub with saltwater and give the rock a good shaking in it.
