RIO HYPERFLOW 10HF WATER PUMP comments please

Does anyone here own this pump and what is your experience with it, I am looking for a pump for my eshopps nan reef sump. The chamber for the pump is 5.25 by 4.

Looking for the quietest and most efficient. My tank is a biocube 29g.

I use the Rio pumps on all of my tanks. I use them because they are simply the cheapest. Definitely not the quietest or most efficient. I don't have that exact model, but one of similar size and it is fairly quiet. Not silent, but you can't hear it over my other equipment.

i run the rio hf 12 currently on one tank and its great i don't hear it. i also got one for back up.

RIO's use to be well known for exploding in tanks and fouling them with what ever was inside them.

I use one for mixing and moving water thats over 10 years old. I also modded one to my swamp cooler that probably 20 years old and still running.

not sure I would run one in my tank loop however with so many better choices out there

+1, I'd go with a mag drive or eheim pump as a main pump. RIO pumps can be cheap, useful pumps but i wouldn't trust it running 24/7 in my tank.

Eheim has been the worst pump I ever bought.

impeller ruined itself after just a few years.

Was a cheap hobby sized pump on a GEO calcium reactor.
