RIO pumps...do they need to upsize the tube like MAG pump?

Does anyone know if RIO pumps require an upsize in tubing diameter like the MAG pumps?

in other words, do i need to use a 1.5" tube on a 3/4" output from the rio pump?

I don't own any Mag pumps so I'm not clear on what you are trying to ask. I do own Rio pumps and my 2100+ came with 3/4" and 1" barb fittings. I use the 3/4" fitting for my 3/4" tubing I use as a return.

thank isaax...believe it or not - the MAG pump requirement is to DOUBLE the output of the pump - pretty ridiculous right?

Ah ok lol. Then the answer to your question is no. On the Rio's, if you use the 3/4" barb, then you use 3/4" ID tubing. Same with the 1" barb, you use 1" ID tubing.
