RIP buddy, you'll be missed!

Peter,

Sorry for your loss. Isn't it amazing how attached we can become?

BTW, my new Mueller's Butterfly is now in my DT, eating live & froozen food and so far not nipping at corals, clams... or aiptasia. But I'm already attached to him. Every time I look into the tank up close, he comes over and looks right back out at me. It's almost scary.

that melanospilos was probably the king of all melanospilos.

one of the most gorgeous specimens i've seen.

don't worry. it's now in fish heaven leading it's army of genicanthus melanospilos. females, males and all other stages of life. but none can compare to that kingly fish that you once had.

can it be internal parasite..?
have you checked the gill..?

Thank you for all the kind words. You are all right, it really is amazing how attached we get to these fish of ours.

I did look at th gills. Nothing. I clearly somehow introduced some sort of pathogen, maybe with a coral or something. I just haven't been able to ID it based on what I saw going on with his temples and lateral line. Interesting also that all the other fish are fine, including the female. Thank goodness!!

I have no plans to replace him.
