Well.....my my pet lobster that I have had since he was less than an inch long.....he was a stowaway in some Keys rock I harvested over 18 years ago.....has crossed the sandbar.......

Was the oldest living lobster I know of, was a good critter, would come running up the side of the tank when he saw me.....and sure loved his raw shrimp.

He had been acting funny the last couple of days, and was not eating, I thought he was going to molt again with the full moon, but he had lived a very long life, and a happy one.

Yup...that was the girl....what a great pet for 18 years..from less than an inch to almost 6 pounds!....she ate like a horse.........I have two more that were rejects from a local aquarium..that have been with me now for 3 years......am not sure of the sex...but some tar patches would be neat!

richard, not to change the thread, but are they legal to sell at 1"? what a great addition to a reef tank!

Not a chance! LOL

but when they come as by-catch in a live rock landing....is covered!

and is defiantly not a critter you would want in a reef tank anyway, as they destroy/eat EVERYTHING!!

Yup...when I lived in Maine, I used to dive scallops....and there was always little tiny lobsters hanging around the scallops on the bottom...that was in 1983...huge scallops, dinner plate sized...yum!

She was a trooper...I figure in all those years she ate thousands of dollars worth of fresh shrimp.......but just did not have the heart to munch her....she became mango tree food in my back yard.....lives on in my trees!

Water is getting real warm, time for another trip to Tampa!

Yes understandable, she was a fine pet with one veracious appettie for sure. Big and beautiful she was.

I'm gearing up for it! I need another vacation. :D
