riped bissal gland off maxima

just got a gold max 5 inch had rock on him when put him in tank on rock the rock fell last night and riped his rock off and long string bissal gland has any one had one survive after something like this he is in the sand now and opening but I dont know what to do with him any help would be appar. Dom

You may want to place him on another rock and keep a close eye on him for any attacks from bristle worms. They may go after the damaged bissal gland thinking it was dieing. I would just keep him under light and water conditions good. I would think he should be able to survive the incident since they have more problems in the ocean.

Do you still feed your clam any DT's? You may want to feed it some to aid in recovery.
