I have an Anemone (not sure what kind, ill include a pic) that i got from the LFS. When i put it into my tank i noticed that it was ripped, it seems to have healed a little bit but is there anything i can do? will it die? also it did come from an anemone that has split 8 times already, so could it be splitting? it also has what looks like an inflamed lip or something coming out of its mouth. anyways and suggestions, comments, and insights are most welcome.

sorry that i have a bad camera, it is actually more colorful in real life. more of a lime/neon green.

this happens a lot with clown and anemone, make sure your water quality is in top notch so the anemone does not get any infections.

is the anemone recently added?

don't worry it will get better, this often happens with clowns as they will bite and pull the anemone's tentacles, they do it all the time, just keep the clow well fed and check to see if he is carrying food back to the anemone?

that is a good sign, but this will happen all the time keep that in mind, i have a red carpet and a pair of perculas and they constantly would bite a rip off the small tentacles, but they grow back within a week.

I've seen this happen with a bubble tip and a sebea that I had in the past. The important thing is not to stress it out and it will heal in a few days.

it retracted today, i thought it was dead! but i came back an hour or two later and now it looks fine.
could it be expelling waste?

It's a good possiblility. My Bubble tip really shrinks up when it is pooping. It lasts like an hour or so, then it goes back to it's normal full self. Look for brown strands coming out of the mouth when it is small. That is what my anemone's poo looks like.
