So while moving a piece of live rock, I inadvertently found my missing BTA. He had been moving around the tank a little the last couple days and slipped behind some live rock dangerously close to my filtration. I wasn't really looking for him because I knew he would be fine but I wanted to move a piece of LR that had been bothering me. Anyways, when I was pulling it out, I thought it was stuck on a neighbor piece of LR so I tugged at it pretty good until I saw what was really the problem. My BTA had attached half his foot to one piece and the other half to the piece I was attempting to remove. By the time I saw it, he had a good size tear running up the middle from the foot to the tentacles. He's not ripped all the way through, but It's definitely noticeable.
Questions:
Will he live?
If he lives, will this cause a clone?
Can I do anything to help him at this point or should I just let nature take its course in due time?
Note: Nothing is paired with it so nothing should bother it. My clowns have never even gone close to him for some reason and nothing else ever really does either, save for a stray hermit now and again.
Thanks for any advice!
