ritteri anemone

im sorry lol was that an S. Gig in the center of your tank of the video i couldnt tell..

anddddd i just caught you red handed watching cartoons :P it was on the reflection of the tank!!!

the mag looks really good though :D

No that is not s.Gig they are some kind of Xenia not sure what kind . Yeah my son loves his cartoons so do I .

I've currently got a small Mag under a Radion LED. Running it 30% natural mode (12 hour cycle that mimics a day) as the light is new and everything is acclimating. I have to say the nem seems to love this light, opening the most I've seen in the month since I got it. The way my mag spreads out I'm guessing he is looking forward to me turning the LEDs up.

I hav my mag under LEDS with no problems at all for a little under a year now

Thank you so much you guys for responding . I can not wait to see my tank under LED

My mag been under a vertex illumina 200 since October. Running the vertex 4" above the water, power peaks at 90%. Nem was previously under a 250w halide. Color has improved under the leds imo.

Good to know . I just look up your LED that you use they are really nice there are so many thing you can do with that set up

It's looking healthy. I'm surprised either of your maroons would leave a BTA to go to a mag, since that's not a natural host. I wouldn't be surprised if, in the end, they both end up back in the BTA.

So I have a chance at a ritteri and looks like the pics you have standing tall and attached well but the tank that would be able to hold it for now has T5ho x4. I have a large rock that would sit it right below the lights say 6-7 inches below. Would that be enough light? And it will be in a LPS tank with euphyllia's and an elegance coral. Would I need to worry about aleleopathy like i would a giant carpet?

What size tank, flow, experience caring for anemones? All those are important questions. H. Magnifica is one of the hardest anemones, if not all saltwater creatures to keep, second only to the gigantea. Besides that, I doubt your lighting would be sufficient regardless. These are a difficult thing to care for and a lot of us took a lot of learning to get to a point that we are comfortable keeping these anemones.

My Light are Aquaticlife with 4 ATI 54wat X 4 and im going to add 2 54wat bulbs. I put the Nem as close as i could to the light and sice i have done that is has moved down the rock a little bit . If you could tell us more about your lights and how big and old your tank is that would really help us

Thanks EC I respect your opinion. I won't so it then. It was just oh so tempting because it was in such good shape. And at a petco of all places. But I will wait till my setup is perfect for one. I've kept BTA's for the last 8 months and have 7 in a species only tank. And love
Anemones but I think I should let that one go to someone who can do it. I will be up grading this month to bigger tank and led lighting maybe
Next year:) beautiful animal though

Yes this nem is really beautiful i have been waiting for about 9 months for you

nice nem had one myself best of luck!!
unfortunately i lost mine when a muscle living in my LR died @ the back of the tank and nuked it....
but yours looks fantastic

Keep a close eye on the maroons and mag. I had a very healthy and well established mag, until I put my maroons in with it. In two days, she chewed off almost all of its tentacles, and killed it.:(

Ok well It has Been 3 month with this Beautiful ritteri before it would host a pair of maroons and now it host a pair of Perc's . It has Moved a little but has stay on the same rock . I have change the flow so much now i have it right were i want it . This past it wanted to move again reason being is i added a JBJ quad wave maker so the flow is more like a wave going from right to left . Just thought i would share .
