Ritteri on day 8 in tank. What do you think?

I got the nem as far from a wall as is possible in my tank. Not easy with the drain box being so wide front to back and left to right also. Nem looks close to that wall of the overflow, but the furthest tentacle tip right now is about 6" away. I know to still watch it of course, but this is as good as physically and dimenionally possible lol. I'm going to wrap that power head intake fence in filter floss secured by rubber bands. It seems happy to me. No more ltitle deflations that I had yesterday morning. It wasnt easy to rework the rock work and get the nem right like this. It's also positioned on the rock it's on (smoothish and flatish) so that it cant go UP to anything. If it goes up to the end of the rock it's on, which is close to where it's at now, there's no where to go.

Lighing Is pretty intense, I'm guessing 300-350 par from last I took a reading in that area (it crosses lighting of both the a700 and the a600 spot lights there. Flow is medium or more. It's stayed put there the entire day.

**for pics, I took one showing where in relation to the kighting. One of the nem close up.. and one closer up of the base, hard to see though.

Looks good? or? If not, I just don't know where else I can try to put it....

It looks like that may be a great spot for nem. It's just odd at first to be so far front in relation to it's height in the water column, like in your face (in person when you see it in 3d). My next tank will 100% not have this huge overflow box.

I'm not going to comment on how good the ritt is looking as I don't to hex it. I got the inflow covered with cotton filter pad. I hope everything is nearly the same as when I get back on Monday (leaving Thursday).

Don't cover the intake with filter floss pad. It clogged up overnight, causing very little flow, and likely stress on the pump. Luckily I did this a day and half before leaving. I just have that pump off...

**Anyone know where I can get a flat, thick 'sheet' of sponge material that I can wrap around the intake? A sponge material I'm thinking would not get clogged so fast.

Good idea on that mesh. I'll get it as soon as I can. tonight assuming I can find it. Are all innocuous to salt water? No chems to leach, etc?

**I came back from my 4 day trip. Nem was nearly in same spot. Now I'm back and it's on the move, pretty quickly. Heading over some rocks that are a little lower down and rough. Only thing different from me being here to not is that I fed the tank some difrent (frozen, not freeze dried autofeeder food) food than it got in the last 4 days. But I fed the tank this same food before I left. I also turned the temp down in my apt by 1 degree. That's it.

I'm just goign to have to block off the inlets to my drain box more, and mesh around both power heads. One has been off.

*At least nem is looking wonderful :) ... COming on three weeks ... 11 more days to the month hurdle.

***>> What is bad about feeding it while on the move? If I feed it some bits, will that possibly make nem stay and not move?

UPDATE .. i'm past the 30 day mark. Now I need to hit the one year mark :-D . Here's a pic as of now. Totally random shot, it was intended to be part of video of nam. But the clowns are looking right at the camera, with blue tang below. Yes, you can tell probably that it is right now getting a lot of flow. I will likely turn that down some, but the power heads are super powerful (Tunze 3) already only 35% power I think.

This is after in tank 5 weeks. Nem has't moved from this very highly lit spot in over a week. Now I need to arrange the rocks around him to make it look right, not just a tower of rocks. I'm always watching for nem to try to advance onto the near by drain box. If it does, the drain box slits are blocked by secure ties, so I think very low chance of it being pulled by drain slots.

You really do need a very large tank especially if it has a drain box to have more ease of finding a good spot for a ritteri.

Looking good.
Just a silly question. Why do you have that electricity cord tied in the middle of the tank instead of outside the tank?????

I'm just seeing this response.
I need to fix that. I just replaced that PH it leads to. And when i get a chance I''l try to hide it behind rock and then wire it down through my drain box.

And thanks for the looks good :) .. It still does.. going on Month 2. I think it/he might be growing (maybe). No signs of any deflation / irriation in a long time. Hasn't moved from that spot since it's been there a few weeks. Now I need to arrange rocks around him :), but not close enough to touch!
