RO/DI Filter Question, need answer ASAP

I just got finished hooking up my RO/DI Filter with 3.2g pressure tank/auto shut off and had a quick quection. Whenever the tank completly fills along with all of the lines, the auto shut off will detect the back pressure and shut off the water right? When it does this will it still create waste water or should it completly shut off the whole system?

The reason I ask this is because I hooked up a ball valve to the good water line and shut it so no water was coming out and I was still getting water coming out of the waste line. The only thing I can think of if it's not supposed to be coming out of there is that I have air trapped inside of the DI housing that I cant see.

Thanks!

it may take a few hours to a whole day to shut down the first time.... as you guess, this is trapped air that has to be purged.

Yes if it is plumbed correctly it will sense the backpressure in the bladder tank and shut the flow from the autoshutoff valve to waste. It does sometimes take a while to do this until it is completed primed and all air is out of the system. Its best to let the system make a full tank and then open the fauset and waste the entire first batch to flush the system. You should be good after that.

Should shut off, but as other have said it might take a little time to purge. Make sure the shutoff valve is connected correctly.
