I'm not sure if people are allowed to answer this, but I'll try:
There seem to be a lot of RO/DI options out there. Between Amazon and several sponsors on this site... There seem to be multiple places where I can get a unit.
So... how should I decide? Are there any particular suppliers that I should avoid? Some places have a higher degree of customization, and obviously everyone has slightly different pricing. Assuming that I limit myself to Amazon and sponsors here... is there any reason that I shouldn't just go for the best price that gets me all that I want/need?
My needs:
Flow rate isn't a big deal. I'm going to get & install a pressure gauge for my supply water before get a unit (to know what it is) but I don't anticipate needs for a higher flow rate unit. The anticipated setup it'll serve will be a 90gal display & 55gal sump/fuge.
I have city water, with chloramines, so I need the extra chloramine option. I also want to make sure to get two carbon stages.
I'm not sure about a built-in TDS meter. I plan to purchase an independent one, though I may like the built in one for a quick sanity check.
I don't think I care about a dual DI stage.
I'd like to have an auto shut off, so I can have it automatically fill a tub.
Anything else that should be important to me? I just don't know quite how to filter through the options right now.
