RO/DI Recommendations

I'm happy w/ my new unit from filterguys.
Spectrapure is probably the best from what others have posted.

well im looking at one from the filter guys and air water ice
those two i would start looking into

Exactly which models in particular are you looking at from filterguys. From posts I agree that Spectrapure is the one thing everyone agrees is the best. But $350 is a little more than I want to spend right now.

I got the ocean reef-4 from filterguys for $199 plus shipping- total was $237
Just set mine up, and after dumping the first 10g I'm getting a 0 reading on my TDS
My tap was getting like 500 on the TDS

Like davocean, I will be buying the Ocean Reef-4 from Filterguys in another couple of weeks. The spectrapure is supposed to be the best, but I missed out on the promo price of $260 and I just can't justify spending the regular price of $350 for the filter unit.....especially when guys seem to be more than happy spending $100 on the ebay units and generally getting good results. I figure I am going with a happy medium and sticking with a unit that is supposed to actually BE pretty good with good customer service....so the $200 Ocean Reef-4 it is.........

I've been really happy with my aqua fx. I recommend buying them direct from the manufacturer also as it tends to be cheaper than retailers. I started with the stingray and upgraded piece by piect to the baracuda. Their company site is aquariumwaterfilters.

If that is the vendor you want to go with spend the little extra and get the Typhoon III.
I remember talking to you about his before, and i think you said that was a pretty good brand correct? What is the main difference between the typhoon and the typhoon 3

It gets you a TDS meter, RO test valve, DI bypass valve and a fast flush valve. It used to get you a pressure gauge also but I don't see that now. I use two pressure gauges myself, one on the incoming line before any filters and one after the final carbon so I can measure pressure drop across the filter array to help judge filter condition.
