anyone have suggestions for an RO/DI unit? I finally talked the wife into letting me get one.

I'm in an apartment so it cannot hook into the plumbing permanently. also i'd like to be able to use it for drinking water

thanks

Spectrapure fan here...they are excellent with technical support and customer service. They have been around a LONG TIME...most other RODI companies in the hobby have come and gone the last six years I have kept reefs.

After a year of having an airwaterice unit I am still a satisfied customer. I can leave a message with walter and he usually calls back the same day. Great warranty. I love my Typhoon III and use it to feed my frig with RO. When I change my filters I can always see that my money was well spent. No matter what you choose a RO/DI unit is one of the best tools of the hobby.

so, is there any reason to go with a 3,4,5,6,7 stage over another? all these bells and whistles i have no idea.. now i know what my grandmother feels like when she is asking me about computers.

I was looking at the typhoon III but was wondering what the difference in it and the dua home/reef 6 stage on that site is..

and of course every one i've looked at offers only the purest water. i'm about to pull my hair out and i dont have any..

I have a WaterGeneral RO6100+DI from Filterdirect.com but bought through their eBay store. It was about 125 at my door. RO output w/faucet, RO/DI output with valve, and 3 gallon storage tank.

I have the same as roy without the tank...Works more than fine. No issues. By the washer/dryer there is 2 hot and 2 cold, I just hooked it to that with a connecter.

You could talk her into this but not the BRAIN CORAL!
Next time, just carry it in the house in your pocket and tell her I bought it for you for all the help with my fishcam. :D

I would deal with PurelyH2O. They are a sponsor here. They have great units at great prices and if you call and speak with Bryan there he can talk you through anything. I personally would not deal with airwaterice as I think you can get comparable units out there for less money and with better service. Try Purely H2O, I don't think you will be dissapointed.

well since the board slowed down and no one is posting.

well i ended up with a typhoon III from airwaterice.com.. seemed like it had more for the money and came with a free TDS meter.

spectrapure looked nice but was costly.

thanks for all the advice offered.

I agree with Dave and Mark, I am a huge SpectraPure fan. Sure, the are a little more expensive, but their quality and customer support are unmatched.
