RO/DI TDS Drop Question

What kind of drop in tds are you people getting with different rodi units? My tap water is reading 101-125 on the tds meter, what would be a good unit to buy to get that to 0? would a el-cheap-o ebay unit work or do i need better, What kind of real world drops have people seen from like the airwaterice and buckeye units?

whatever unit you buy should result in 0 TDS. the difference in units is the quality of the filters. some use cheaper RO membranes, etc. that means you may have to change them more often. i personally use a RO/DI unit from aquasafesystems off of ebay. i have been using it for about 9 months and i still get 0 TDS on my meter.

Depends on the amount of water filtered and the water quality before filtered. For me I replace 2 to 3 times a year, just the bottom 3 filters, once every year to 18 months for the three on top.

My TDS out of the tap is 137ppm.Out of the Ro/DI is 8(I will be replaceing filters this week). My current filters are about 6 months old.

My tap is around 250 TDS. With a 98% RO membrane, my RO water is running around 3-4 TDS. After DI it goes down to 0. I use the Typhoon III from airwaterice.com.

My unit worked great for 3 months, then slowly but surely the TDS began increasing, regardless of filter changes. Now it only produces low TDS if it's been running continuously for a while.

I got one of the ~$120 units from ebay. My tap water is 1400 TDS (really it is). After a 98% RO, it's about 40. Then I run 2 DI chambers (just so I don't have to change it as often) to get it down to zero.
