RO DI unit

I am considering a new RO DI unit. H2O-Science on ebay has a
Reverse Osmosis Extreme Reefer System RO + DI for $279.00. It seems to have everything you would want. They also have 100% positive feedback. The ebay item number is (250097752638). Anybody tried this vendor or his RO units?

Thanks, Norm

I dont have any experience with that particular system but from looking at it, its seems to be a good unit. Vertical DI's and a good RO membrane with the Dow 75 GPD.

In my opinion, for that much money just kick in an extra 40 bucks to get the best unit available which is the Spectrapure MaxCap. This way you know you are covered with a reputable company. Instead of dual DI's like the one you are looking at, it uses the Silica-Buster cartridge before the DI. The extra 40 bucks would be well spent as the Silica-Buster will allow you to get a lot more water from your DI before it needs replacing. It also has 2 x Dual TDS meters and a pressure guage.

Im sure AZDesertRat will chime in shortly and he can explain things much better than me.

The one on ebay looks like it has everything you would need except a water tank. I went to the website and it doesn't come with as much stuff.

Not all RO/DI units are created the same. Most of the eBay stuff is inferior to the better quality units. You get what you pay for. Operating cost has a LOT to do with RO/DI and the overall cost to own one.

You can do just as good if not better right here with RC sponsors. That unit is just about identical to PurelyH2O units as well as The Filter Guys or Buckeye Field Supply.
I would have to second the Spectrapure MaxCap system. Nothing even comes close to them for DI resin lifespan, I am at 545 gallons out of my first DI cartridge now and thats with a tap water TDS or 852 last Saturday! No one can touch that. www.spectrapure.com

I pulled the trigger on a filterguys unit. I got the OCEAN REEF + 2 SIX STAGE 75 GPD RO/DI. Can't wait to get it.
