I have one after my DI and I think the extra carbon filter is for taste. Not sure how it adds flavor, but it doesn't add anything measureable on my TDS. I would get it if you're planning on using this thing for drinking water, although it may not make much difference. Of course you could always put both carbon filters before the RO. My system has 3 carbon prefilters. I would also add an extra storage container or two if you're not connecting this thing directly to your top off container. You may also want to invest in a float valve if your going straight to your top-off. It's a pain to wait for these things to fill up, and if you forget it's a real mess.
I suggest you get a system with an additional DI filter, and you'll need a TDS meter to measure how well your filter is working, so you know when to replace the filters.
