ro unit queston

My top cylinder is single, and larger. The bottom ones are longer. One of the things you have to consider is replacement cylinders. If they're not readily available, standard sizes, that can be a real problem. Try to find replacement cylinders for that unit and see how available they are. That shipping charge is huge, btw.

there are many threads here on RC regarding the ebay units. not commenting on the people who sell them as i'm sure they strive for good cust. service typically the "get what you pay for" statement refers to the quality of filters, media and membranes that are used. They tend to be not so great in the longer run. Channeling in the media is a concern for horizontal DI cartridges (they are also smaller)
For something that is so basically important to our tanks (the water we add) I would lok for a unit that has a Dow filmtec membrane, a full sized vertical positioned DI Cartridge and quality carbon and prefilters. IMO that can improve your success and save a lot of frustrations in the long run.

i have one of those ebay units and well it is no longer in service as it can't even produce 5 gal. a day even with new filters and cleaned it all out. i now have a purelyh2o unit and i will never buy another brand again.
