The time has come for our third annual Reef-A-Palooza, Southern California's largest frag swap and hobbyist fair! It will be held August 19, 2006, 11:00 AM â€"œ 4:00 PM at 1300 E Gene Autry Way, Anaheim, CA.

This year we are making this event bigger and even more successful than before. Reef-A-Palooza is the Southern California Marine Aquarium Society’s (SCMAS) largest event each year. SCMAS is made up of hobbyists from the entire Southern California region and is one of the oldest aquarium clubs in the country, focused primarily on marine aquariums. It was established in 1986 with the goal of promoting our hobby and helping others to be successful and enjoy their aquariums in one of the largest marketplaces in the country.

Reef-A-Palooza is quickly becoming Southern California’s premier event, with over 200 hobbyists in attendance in the first year and over 300 in the second. Now in our third year, we are expanding and will have an even bigger event in a larger location. The new location increases our capacity and we expect to host over 500 hobbyists. Reef-A-Palooza was founded to increase awareness of the importance of sustainability in our hobby through a large, public and free frag swap. Reef-A-Palooza also helps educate beginning aquarists with workshops and presentations from well known author (Anthony Calfo & Robert Fenner), researchers and vendors.

Vendors such as AquaC, Current USA, Coralife/ESU, Hamilton, Hello Lights, Eheim, Liquid Life, Tunze, Fragfarmer.com, Marine Depot, SoCal Creations, Tom Aquatics, Marc Weiss, Reeffarmers/CFM, Garretts Acropolis, Jendub.com, and Tropical Oasis have taken advantage of this event to promote their products. Through their participation at this event, these companies have gained direct access to hobbyists, beginners and experts alike, acquiring new customers and receiving immediate feedback on new and existing products.

Booths are available free of charge for you to showcase your frags. In return , we ask for a donation to our raffle. We thank you in advance for your time, consideration, and participation.

Because this is such a large event, if you plan to sell or trade frags and require booth space, you will need to reserve a booth. If you have any further questions, or would like to reserve a booth to sell or trade frags please contact me asap. Greg.Carroll@scmas.org.

No problem! Hopefully you guys can get a carpool going and maybe some of your club members may want to reserve a spot to sell frags. The folks aroung here loved the Coral Farmers Market with all the vendors from the Bay area. I would be nice to have them down again. Admission is free and vendor booths are also
free (ok not totally free, but with a small donation for the raffle).

GreshamH, did you get my email response?

Sure did, and a few from others in the group as well :D i'll reply tonight, sorry.

I'll see if Al G Blenny and crew want to drive down with me.
