You will be in one of the most artsy, eclectic neighborhoods in Rochester. Monroe/Park Ave area. From the Strong Museum, take a walk down Monroe. Gitsis is a great family restaurant (appearances aren't everything), it's a diner with some great food at great prices. Along the walk are all sorts of unique shops, Archimage is one of my favorites. There's a Starbucks up the street, also an Abbotts (frozen custard, you probably knew that) and I believe the local farmers market happens in the church parking lot just past that. Cut over to Park Ave and you will find more of the same, only a little more upscale. Park Leigh is a great shop with all sorts of unusual and one of a kind items. Other nice restaurants on Park Ave include Jines and Camilles. Again, great food, great prices. High Falls is another nice little visit while you are here, as is Highland Park.
For LFS, none are downtown. You will need to travel north to Irondequoit or East to Fairport or West to Spencerport. From downtown, it's about 20 mins to any of them. Shameless plug, but my artwork is at CF in Irondequoit and ABC in Fairport.
I'll pm you my cell. I'll be out and about all day, but if you need any assistance, give me a call. Love showing off my city.
I'll pray for decent weather for you all!
