Road Trip??

Well the front seat does have a middle position, so if you wanna ride biat... well you get the idea. ;)

Let me work up some numbers on cost for rental of a van vs gas mileage, etc. and see if the numbers play out with 6 people.

Guys.....I'm sleeping in the whole front seat all the way up and back. You guys will have to duke it out for the comfy spots in the back.

I offered to drive, and its Mike's truck, so I just assumed he was riding shotgun.

;)

Thats what you get for assuming!!! Not only did I call shotgun (which is clearly a man law) but I will be leaving with Mike so I will be in MY seat before we even get you guys. If we get a van however... SHOTGUN!!!

I wish I still had my Durango. It would hold seven no problem. The kicker is it got 11 MPG.

LMAO... I am the third tallest guy here so my feelings are A-OK Peter..
If we are talking about mental midgets however we can fit you in an altoids container :D

Cheapest I can get a minivan for is for $34 a day (x2 days given the dropoff time, etc.) - total $85 with taxes, etc. Avg MPG is 18 for the minivans (maybe a little better on the highway). They can hold 7 adults according to the website - but thats probably about it (read: the gear might be an issue)

My truck will hold 5 comfortably, or 6 not so comfortably. Avg mpg is 15.

But you can't do to your truck what you would readily do to a rent truck... Saltwater everywhere! Tanks tied on top! Stands strapped to the back!

God you guys should film this trip. The first reefer road trip comedy.

Good price on a rental. I can't beat that, even with my corporate rates and discount, for a minivan. Not much room for gear though, you're right.

So the van itself would be about $14 each to rent, Seems cheap.

Would just need to figure what gear will be brought and possibly brought back

Im down for the minivan - with 6 (Rafael you were just recruited) - that works out to be a savings of approx $40 on gas, and with the added cost of the rental and insurance, we are looking at a net additional of $10/person to go with the van.

The van has to be picked up at the airport (Dollar rental) and paid with an AMEX card to get all the discounts I could find. With insurance we are looking at approx $100 for Friday pickup afternoon and drop off at noon Sunday.

Lets vote! All those for the van?

(BTW - that leaves room for another) :)

So $17 each for the van alone.

I vote Van and if we get a seventh it would be cheaper and gas would be alot cheaper to slip 7 ways
