Rob's Cadlights 50G Artisan II Cube build!

The skimmer is good, it was overflowing in the beginning, I believe it was due to low nutrients in the water, but now the tank is getting a little mature and its running like a champ.

Just did my plumbing....almost ready for water! Just waiting for my Apex, ATO, and dosing pump.

Nice job on the plumbing

I heard that SC Aquarium sells the same tanks from who made CADLight for a lower price. I like that sump except it takes all the spaces and no room for ATO reservior.

Sorry to add to this hijack, but they are NOT the same. The overflow boxes on the tanks from SC Aquarium are square where Cadlights' are shaped like a hexagonal that's been cut in half. The teeth on the SC overflows also look jagged like they were cut on a table saw. I much prefer the look of the Cadlights' overflow.

Which Laguna return pump are you using?

Laguna Max Flo 1350, awesome pump... low heat and very quite. I wished it got a little hotter, wanted to avoid adding a heater. During the summer the tank never went above 82, but recently dipped down to 75, and just dropped a heater in the sump.

Little update, I have about 30 different zoas, Utter Chaos, Bowser, CAR, jokers, rastas etc... cant wait for them to mat and cover all the rocks. A few Acans, favias, gold and green hammer, torch, Lobo, gold plate, 2 Tyree toadstools and a few SPS and caps.

Great pump! If you ever have problems with vibration, socaltropicalfishoutlet.com sells a nice acrylic stand with rubber feet that goes on the Laguna 1350/1500. $20 and it makes it absolutely silent. I figured that was the pump you were using, just wasn't sure the overflow could handle that much

Nice. I just got a cube I'm going to set up at work. I'll probably be hitting you up to buy some corals in a month or so. I haven't even been to your place since you set up the 300.

Hey, I am currently in process of setting up the same tank. The plumbing has me frustrated. I purchased the adapter (20mm to 1/2 inch) for the return. My question is did you use 1/2 piping and unions for the rest of the return? If not what size and or reducer did you use. I was told to use nothing smaller than 3/4 inch on return. Any help is appreciated.
