Rock Algae - Dip

Hello RC!

It's been awhile since I posted but I really need some solid advice ASAP.

I had a terrible algae bloom in my aquarium recently of long hair algae. Just overtook the tank at an incredible rate. I rescued all of my livestock transferring them to another established tank.

I cleaned the tank and all of the equipment like it was the White House!

Now for the live rock. Obviously this is where most of the algae was.

Just to be clear, I put down a brand new bed of aragonite and trashed the old bed. I didn't even use it to seed. I'm starting this tank from scratch. Brand new baby! The DT is currently cycling.

Back to the rock. I scrubbed it pretty good but really, how good can you really scrub it. I have it soaking in freshwater right now. 4pm - 7/25.

I need some advice on the next step.
Should I let it dry?

Should I just return it to the rubbermaid in saltwater with a powerhead and a heater and start cycling it in darkness?

I'm open to all suggestions. I want everything on it dead.

I hope someone can help!

Thanks RC!
Joshua
