Just ordered some rock from TBS for the first time yesterday, will be here in 1 hr. Anxious to see it as everyone here seems very pleased with theirs. Ill let everyone know how it goes and post some pics when I get it all in place. Have lots of experience with fish only, but this will be my first endevor into LR.

Cool!! Watch out for those mantis shrimps, they're generally seen in the larger rocks with the networks of holes and tunnels but can also hide out in the smaller pieces too. I caught one so far, and am working on getting the 2nd little bugger outa there, they're clever little suckers.

I still have two Gorilla Crabs in mine--they don't come out of hiding. Near impossible to catch.

Great--TBS rock is excellent. Enjoy.

Take pictures and welcome aboard.

Ok, here are some pictuers. Sooo glad my LFS ignored me when i went in to by LR a week ago cause this stuff is 100X better than the plain stuff they had bubbling in their large buckets. By the way, anyone know what that spider looking creature is in the last picture? I guessed arrow crab but there were no pinchers and no distinct head. Had a few little starfish hitchhikers and a gorilla crab that i got before he got in the tank. Sifting thru the sand i found the red starfish and that spider creature. All the levels in my tank are good, ammonia went up to about .3 overnight and ill keep checking it but dont anticipate any problems. The rocks keep comming more and more to life, cant wait for what I see next.
Thanks Richard and TBS!!

Wow nice pictures!

The spider guy?

I do not know, but it is the first invert to repopulate our rock site after the yearlong red tide we had last year that killed all the life in the Gulf.

I would try Dr. Ron for an ID on this guy.

It is not a juvenile arrow or false arrow crab.......

It is a very cool creature!

Yea, he was cool. Only got to watch him the first day, havent seen him since. He was in the leftover sand in the bag. I scooped him up and put him in the tank and it was fun to watch, he got caught in some current and started floating, then he would open up wide then ball himself up to try and sink. It worked pretty well, cause when he balled up, he dropped pretty fast. Was fun to watch. Wish id get another glimpse of him :-( Wonder if he is doing ok.

If it is a sea spider, I have read and heard that those are one of the invertabrae that is a sign of a healthy and stable environment in the ocean. That is good news that they repopulating in the Gulf if that is what it is.

And yet another hitchiker

And yet another hitchiker

Here is the latest little guy i have found. Plus there is a little yet to be identified something that is red and has little pinchers for a mouth, but only caught small glimpses of him as he retracts when i move. Dont know if it is a worm or something else. Someday ill see him for longer than a second, but he has barricaded himself in a little hole with shell pieces all over it.
