Call up MarineLand(?) whoever made the stealth heater they sent me new ones.
I can understand about ironing out problems. I still need to get my magnesium up as well as replace all the heaters in all my tanks. I bought the Marineland Stealth heaters but with them being under recall, I have six of various sizes that need to be replaced soon. Plan to buy the magnesium and heaters at the same time so hopefully that will fix both prolems.
During the winter, the tank was evaporating 1-1.5 gallons a day. During that time I was using one teaspoon per gallon to make the kalk. With the summer coming along and the air outside being more humid, the evapration rate is right around 1 gpd but have kept with the 1 teaspoon per gallon. The nice thing about kalk directly in the ATO container is you can play with the concentrations to meet your needs. Using a kalk reactor, you don't have this flexability.
Thanks.Congrats on year number one!![]()
Lookin good man. For once green in a tank doesn't look bad at all.
Congrats on the 1 year mark!
The stuff grows all over my tank so it must like something about my setup. There are a bunch of different shapes and sizes. In addition to the Halimeda I have several other forms of algae growing in the tank. I figure if it gets too out of hand I can just pull any one type out and change the balance. I prefer to keep things in check rather than totally eliminate them. Although the red flatworms may get a chemical treatement before too long.Tank is looking good. I like the natural look of the Halimeda.. Keep it up
The black fuzzy one on the couch figured out she could jump. Like a little kid, she enjoys sticking her nose in things, chewing on anything, and getting dirty.New corals look great! (Still jealous you are so close to Dr. Mac's, haha). Did you have any trouble mounting the black fuzzy one to the couch?
The flatworms used to be in the sump and nowhere else. When my coris wrasse disappeared, they made it into the display. The last few days I have been sucking them out into a brine shrimp net but given the number, it will be a while before the numbers are noticably different. Eventually I will use flatworm exit on them and do them in once and for all. That will probubly be about the time I upgrade......so not any time soon.you have a ungodly amount of flatworms in there
