1st let me say that I am posting here after a few people suggested it. I was reluctent as I didn't want this seen as trying to take membership and involvement from CMAS. When I lived in Hanover Park I loved this club! It is just hard to keep up with it now that I am in the Rockford area. If this is in anyway offencive to CMAS peeps in anyway, please let me know and I will ask for this to be removed.

That being said I want to start a reef club in the Rockford area and am looking for interest and advice on starting a club. Currently there is myself and 2 others who have expressed interest. I am looking to have a meeting July 8th, at my house (hope to have my 220 set up by then;) )
Anyone?
Any advice?

I would be interested in discussing it. I live by Dekalb. I will be on vacation next week but after that I would like to have some imput.

If I can find a little time, I am interested too :). If I ever get this place cleand up and straightend out, there may be enough room for a meeting here. I am seeing some of the south siders chime in here (morris, Peru) so it may be usefull to them (central location). Also a big yard for a cook out/picknic..
 
Wow! Mr. Rod is sponsoring a meeting location at his shop? With barbeque facilities to boot? Shoot! Now if there was only a fridge for b...err...soda, everyone would be set! Wait...there is that fridge where he keeps the food on the left when you walk in. I see a meeting in the making...:) GKQ, what timeframe did you have in mind? June's coming up, and summers are always busy for everyone...weekday or weekend? What's everyone's vote? A month out? 2 weeks?
 
I didnt want to try and take the meeting away from the Rockford local.. Just throwing out an idea. I am just here tagging along for the ride.
 
I am in DeKalb and very interested. Summers are a busy time you may get a better response if you wait until late August. Regardless count me in.
 
I might be interested as well ... if you are letting girls join your club too! (just kidding about the girl thing)

Oh, we'll never have it at Rod's b/c he'll never have the place cleaned up! :D
 
Benjie you should stop over.....he reorganized, so much so he can't find anything ;) Even got down on his hands and knees and scrubbed the floors!

I was there yesterday and it is much more organized and clean. For Rod that is. Just don't make a visit to the funnel. :rolleye1:

All kidding aside Rod is a very busy man and there's only one of him. I could care less how clean his place is. Just long as I can see the corals and talk to the Man.
