Rockscape opinions wanted

Mrramsey

NEO Reefer
I've been adding my rock to the 120. Looking for some opinions on the overall look. The plan is for a mixed reef tank.from across the room

What matters the most is if you like it, you're gonna be staring at it the most after all.

Now if I had to critique, the big rock in the middle that looks like it's about to topple over could use work. Doesn't look natural

The one in the middle is solid and not going to topple over but those two rocks are probably the most unique and I am struggling with those a bit.

There might be a better way, but I just took a hammer and smashed a few pieces of rock that were too large and bulky

When I scape I usually just focus on not letting the rocks touch the glass and leaving enough space to siphon completely around the rock structure

Yes it is all stable and I don't like rock touching the glass either.

Here is that center rock. It actually has a groove that locks them together tight.

OK made some significant changes. I am trying for a natural look rising from the sand bed. I still need to add my sand but this is how I think the left side of the tank will be. I have a couple of inches between the rock and glass in the back for circulation and maintenance.

I like to have upthrusts of rock: they seem to define territory and help keep fish 'focused' on ''their' area. I run a damsel tank, and it does seem to keep everybody happy.

Looks great, I really like the left side, just make sure you can get a scraper in there to clean glass.
The right does look a touch top heavy, but if you say it is secure it's cool, maybe place frogspawn or similar in that hole to make it look more naturally balanced, and that would probably look really nice.
