Rockwork in a Bare Bottom

I will shortly be moving my tank, as such, I am considering going BB. (I am currently running a DSB- and no, this is not a BB v DSB thread)

One of the things that concerns me is that the area behind my rock will be come a collection point for detrious. Has any one taken any specific precautions to prevent this.?

The only thing I have found is a suggestion to raise the rock slightly off of the bottom of the tank. So that you dont have a collection point where the rock and glass meets.

You don't say what size tank you have...but if you have room try to not put the rock against the back wall. Then you can put a powerhead/return jet in the back corner(s) pointing down across the back side of the rock wall. This together with raising the rock off the bottom should help.

I am moving my 75 gallon into a 65 gallon reefready. (I know who moves into a smaller tank, but I bought a new house, and the 65 just fits the space I have better)

I am thinking that I will need to raise the rock off of the bottom of the tank, and keep the bottom rocks from touching the back glass. Perhaps I can then have the upper rocks lean on the back glass. then I can add a powerhead or two i very low against the back.
