RODI Question / Auto Water change

Hello,

My question is, Where does the drain go? If the RODI is shut off via a float valve does that stop the drain also? Does it matter if it has pressure pump?

I'm trying to set up a auto top off/ auto water change system.

This is how I'm planning to run the system:

RODI split and connected to both sump (auto top off) and reserve tank (for water changes)

ATO's will control 2 pumps. 1 - to pump water out and another to pump water in from reserve.

Also do you guys see any issues in my system?

Thank you so much,

Its not a great idea to run an RO directly to your sump. If something happens to the float valve, you can dump a whole lot of fresh water into your tank. Better off having a 5-10g container of RO with a little pump connected to the float valve, that way worst case scenario you only drop your SG a little bit and everything survives.

As far as the RO unit shutting off, you need a solenoid valve in front of the RO unit, it will sense the back pressure of the float valve closing and automatically shut off the water supply.
