does anyone know where i can buy some rodi water in the boro? I was buying ro water at the supermarket but I recently got some less than pure water and it caused some issues. I won the seachem ro filter at the swap but it is used and broken. I bought a di adder for it but cant use it and dont have the cash to buy a new system so need a short term solution, any ideas?

I have been havin' really good luck with the Glacier machine at the Smyrna Publix. It always let's you know when it was last serviced and I think someone here once said it tested 0 TDS.

Only .30 cents a gal. too. You might see if there is a Publix in M'boro with the Glacier machine.

Which supermarket was you goin' to?

funny you should say that, thats the water I was getting, I think it puts out good water if you catch it soon after the filter gets changed but thats a crapshoot. I am looking for a reliable source of rodi untill I come up with some money for a unit.

Do you use the one in Smyrna? If so, I was curious of what problems you are havin'. I have been usin' that store for well over a year now.

Not dissin' Aquatic Critter, but I use to use their water and it seemed I was always havin' that green film on my glass. Once I started usin' the publix for top off and usin' it to mix salt also, The green film is no longer.

The one in Smyrna is usually serviced once every week or two. At least the digital screen says when it was last service and there is also a sticker left with the name and date. I guess that doesn't mean the filters are changed that often but it seems they keep that machine in good workin' order.

I thought you might have been usin' the Walmart Culligan machines.

I use the ro water from walmart in there machine and have not had any problems but when i was using the critters water i was always having problems of some sort.

I was just havin' the green film algae on the glass when I used the water from AC. And it always seemed their SW was only like 1.022 when I tested it. That was after I put it in a tank with a heater and powerhead over night.

Buyin' the 200 gal box of salt and .30 cents a gal. for water just seemed like a better deal to me. I guess it would be even better if I got my own RO unit. Which I probably will soon. It was nice usin Publix when I was only takin' care of my 20. But my brothers 80 gal has been setup at my house longer than planned.

What is AC chargin' for water these days? I rarely even go in the fish side as I mainly just shop next door in the reptile store.

The one they gave away was used and broken? What part is broken exactly, someone may have a replacement part?

I had an algae bloom in a jug of LFS water once. Maybe I bought phyto by accident ;). RODI at home for me now.

Don't know if you have whole foods out there, they have a DI machine? Next time in our store I thought I'd take my meter.

Exactly what part is broken Sean, It can most likely be fixed. Seems to me if they are going to raffle things off ( Expo ) they at least should be in working order.

No joke... if its used and broken, we have an issue and will need to get that resolved.

The union between the two prefilters (the larger kind not the quick connect fittings) has a bad leak (can I puddy this up somehow?), the preshure gauge does not work (might have low preshure but know its not NO preshure, registers nothing), the screw canister for the carbon filter has a bad leak no matter how tight I crank on it (not sure its fixable), I can get water out of the ro discharge but with all those leaks it is wicked slow. I ordered a di add on from air water and ice and connected it but after letting it run over 2 hours last night there was not enough ro water in the di chanber to even fill up the canister 1/4 of the way (and more puddling in the garage than waste water in the bucket. Before I ran it I opened it and the filters were new but the insides of the top of the housings had to be cleaned because they were mucky and there was a little bit of water in the lines when I brought it home as evident by the small puddle on my wood floor when I picked it up to hook it up. Its not like I can really complain and its not mtrc's issue, I mean it was free! I was just disapointed in seachem, espically since I am a user of their other products........was a user I mean. I just need to find a reliable source of water locally untill I can save up enough to get a good new unit (blew my fish budget on the di add on)

I got it running but I have to use it outside because of all the leaking and I can only get about 5 gallons a day before I have to bring it in so that it doesent freeze. I will take you up on that for next weekend I want to do a big waterchange so ill take 25 gallons. It will be worth it to get some good water!
