yep i fed mine too. but my fish always goes crazy for food. but it is really awesome cuz of all the different size of it that is so cool.

ok guys,
i am home :) i have sent my address and my no. to all that PMed me:) those who cannot pick up tonite can pick up tomorrow night around 8 - 8:30.

snabss.

Does anyone have the measurements for the packets ? We just want to be sure that we bring the right cooler with us when we pick them up.

Thanks :)

sorry don't have the exact measurement but is about 6x8 i'll let you know when i get home. it is smaller that a sheet of paper for sure and really flat. a couple of cm. hope that helps

Tom a small ice chest is fine.

The size of the pack is roughly 4x8.

I used a small styro ice chest and there was room to spare.

Thanks Klam and Eileen :). we are going to just bring our soft side lunch cooler (easier to keep it cool than to keep a larger one). We tried that with the last cyclopeez group buy and ended up with it not fitting :(. Thanks again.

Tom, it's roughly 8x6, most cooler will fit, or just bring styrofoam box with dry ice, the material is pretty thin, I think it will melt a bit in a long trip like yours.

Just an update, Ryguan still needs to pickup his 2 paks of frozen food. Again, Ed is pretty flexible and will hold them for you since they have been prepaid. But don't take too long. KLam114

I haven't used this food and wondering for those who has already used it, what's your thoughts. I'm thinking of ordering this from Premium Aquatics, is it worth it? PA charges $10 for the box charge plus s/h/i for 2-day air. Wished Drs Foster & Smith carried it as their s/h/i charge is more reasonable.

here is my experience with it. my fish went crazy for food. i notice that my fishes that doesn't usally eat fozen foods ate rod's food. it true feed the whole tank. coral, fishes, snails, crabs, etc.

vendor experience was the same.

my thought is it worth if from premium aquatics $20 plus $10 box charge and ship is the reason i didn't buy from them the first time. grp buy is $18 or 18.6 if cc or paypal payment. almost 1/2 price.

if you are close by i have one that my friend didn't pay and pick up yet. LMK if you want it. will not ship pick up only. San Franciso.

I hope other share their experience also. If there is more interest in the food. I spoke to vendor and he said he would not mind putting another grp buy in about 3-4 months.

LMK your thought on that also.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm actually out of state from you guys, but thanks for the offer.

I'm looking for any kind of feedback from any of the members using this food for the first time as first impressions is what I'm looking for. Klam114, hoping you don't mind if I ask if anyone using this food for the first time has tried other frozen foods that was just as good and less expensive?

hi guys,
some members have not picked up their packages yet :) let me know when can you pick up? in the mean while, dont worry about the packages, they are nicely frozen in the freezer:) chillin i would say :P

thanks guys & gals. Ed tells me that everyone has picked up from him already. for the south bay guys, if you haven't picked up from snabss yet, don't wait too long. although he has room in his freezer for them, i'm sure his family would prefer to see that spot used for their own freezer items. :D

when you get a chance to tryout Rod's food, lmk know what you think.

I have used this food for the first time.

I have used previous types of frozen food including home-made varieties and this stuff is pretty darn good.

I've always used my home made frozen food. It is very close to Rod's with the exception of the Golden Pearls and oyster eggs (which are key additions IMO). I like Rod's as there is a greater variety in the sizes of the chunks. Mine is more uniform and, sometimes, undersized. I really like the food and will buy it again. The only thing I would change is I think it is a bit overweighted with brine shrimp which are not overly nutritious.

We also have been pretty happy with the food. We will see how long a package lasts on our tank :)

We also had made out own food in the past, and had had great success with it, but like Matt, I saw a couple of ingredients in Rod's food that we didn't use (due to cost, etc). I am sure that Rod buys several of those items in bulk, and at wholesale prices, so he can include them cheaper and easier than we could in our own mix. At least that is what I suspect :)

Snabss - It was great to have met you and to have seen your tank. Here is that thread we were telling you about, for the clear mesh top for your tank : http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=817485

Thanks again for picking up our food for us

and thanks to klam, etc for putting this GB together :D

thanks for the feedback on food. i really like it, but i find it a bit costly. but i've never made my own brew or purchase more expensive frozen food before. what i notice, as i mentioned before, everything goes crazy in my tank, even the hermit crabs and all snails.

raddogz was at Ed's to pickup at the same time I was and I'm sure that she heard the same thing, that if we have enough interest in the food, he'll not only carry it regularly so anyone can buy whenever they need, but we can coordinate another group buy with him again in about 3-4 months down the road.
