Rod's Gyre flow, Natural light, SPS dominated Reef

Hi Alan,

The Majestic is great. I've had him for about 2 years now.

As far as how he is with corals and clams, he's a model citizen. I don't have any soft corals, morphs or zoanthids in this tank, but he doesn't touch the Sps, Lps, clams or even Acans.

I have a friend who had a very well behaved Majestic and I bought mine from the same supplier, hoping I'd get a good one too, which I did!

He was a bit shy at first, but now he is out most of the time.

Very cool fish!

I picked up a couple of new corals over the last few days. I'll see if I can upload them now.

Right, here they are;

Thanks Rod - the Majestic is now firmly on my list - fingers crossed I can get one that's as well behaved as yours!

Cheers,

Alan

Hey Rod, how about a FTS update?

I finally got my sun powered set-up off the ground....please have a look at my build thread. Contemplating when I should start supplementing with T5/MH's to get some color out of those corals.

rod can you explain how the "grye" water motion is working out for you? also could it be accomplished with powerheads?

Sorry everyone for the lack of updates!

Life has been a bit of a challenge over the last couple of years, there's been a few ups and downs but life goes on.

Even though I haven't been updating my journal I have been looking after my tank.

I have replaced the metal halides with LED lights, so now there's LED, T5 & sunlight.

Anyway on with the photos;

Wow! I think I read ur thread a couple of years ago and I thought it was amazing then. Thanks for the update and I must say tank still looks amazing if not better.

Thanks guys.

When I changed to LED's I expected a negative reaction from the corals, which didn't happen.

I checked the PAR of my 150w Mh's and the LED's were very similar.

I've had them a few years now and am very happy with them.

They are only basic lights without all the programmable storms, lightning etc, which I like. For my taste though it needs a few T5's to add in a bit of colour, especially red/pink.

Rod. :thumbsup:
