Rods Onyx clowns

Was wondering if anyone has seen the huge thread on these? I would really like to get a pair with the black. Does anyone know who or were to purchase a pair from?

I have one pair of True Percs and I'm hoping they can co exist in my 180 tank. The Thread says you can order them every so often from Premium Aquatics but didn't see them on their site.

Thanks

If you find out where please share...I know you can order them from Rod himself from time to time as I am looking for a pair as well. I had emailed him back in July of 09 and this was response back then:

Hi Ricky,

Yes, I am still breeding them, but before I sell them to the general public, I am now letting them grow up a bit more. On occasion, I will sell some to premium aquatics before they are grown, so you can keep an eye on their site. Otherwise, it will be at least 6 months before I have any ready.

Thanks

Holy...ummm...moley...this puts a damper on a few things. Got to think this thru...

I had a pair of marrons and a pair of tomatos, they would chase each other around the tank non stop all day....i put a few nems on each side of the tank, still didnt work.....and boy was it a pain to get them out

Spyder that is what I am looking for. I put in a email and left a phone message for them. I was just hoping they would be a little bigger is all. I hate to get them and not have them color up real black as that is what I"m looking for.

I haven't done a lot of research on Clowns as of yet. But I'm surprised that even with 2 nems it didn't work out. Does anyone have more then 1 pair of clowns in there tank?

Also wondering how they would be with my 2 larger tangs. My Tangs have never chased anyone but then again they were the last 2 in the tank.

Time to do much more research before pulling the trigger.

I've mixed clowns in a tank as small as 125g. It worked fine. It was a pair of ocellaris with no host, and a single cinnamon purchased with a host (a green BTA). The cinnamon hung out in her host 24/7 and the ocellaris never even looked at her. The ocellaris didn't have a host, but they had a definite "territory" so when I added the cinnamon and BTA, I placed them far away from that area.

FWIW the only reason I'd tried it was because the cinnamon came with the host. Earlier in my "career" as a fishkeeper I'd tried more than a pair of clowns in a tank and it never worked. It's also fair to note that these two species are probably among the most docile clowns you can keep.

Ocean Gallery in N.J carries them (black onyx) regularily, they are from c-quest where Rod got his.
As for two pairs of clowns in the same tank I have a pr of black o's and percs in a 180 both host nems.
