i just gave away a pair of black osc to a student. :), and they are jet black also. i think there beautiful clowns but im addicted to the tri color of the onyx and they way they develop.

embryoguy, I agree completely! :D

Hey, a good friend just sold off his reef setups and gave me his 65 Hex. since it's not RR, I'm off to Rod's tomorrow morning to get it drilled. While I'm there, I'll be scouting for another pair of them gorgeous Onyx clowns.........

You just stop with one or two pairs, can you???

embryoguy, Your wish is my command! I will take photos and save the best ones for you!

So0rry, I really didn't mean to give you stress, just as the weekend was coming up! :D

Yes, Huey............ You just want me to help you pick out your next pair of Onyx, don't ya?? :D

Whatever type of job you have in Pennsylvania, I', guessing you could do the same thing here in good old Chicagoland! ;)

It's about time you thought about moving here, huh???

Well, if you are 51 years young like me, have your kids and grandchild nearby AND have Rods Reef within driving distance, it's just like heaven!

Would I move across the country just to be close to a fish store that has my favorite clowfish in all the world??? No, probably not!

BUT, If I also get to be near the World Champion White Sox too... Yea, sure! :D

Embryo...

Check out the updates on my pair. I've had them now for almost two months and as you can see they are coloring up great...

I've got a secret!!!

I've got a secret!!!

Yea i know! I promised to tell you why Rods Onyx are better then any others, didn't I........... :p

Of this, I have noooooooo proof, BUT I think it's in the genes...

No really, it's the food! I know, laugh alot!

Yet, everything in my reef gets nourished with the same food that Rod's clowns eats every day... And it's thriving!

Okay, so here it is:

RodsFood.jpg

Oh, BTW............. Rod told me a secret................

Well, Okay, I'll tell you! :D

He just made his first shipment of Rod's Food to Premium Aquatics, so you can FINALLY get it yourself! :D

Hope you try it! Just remember who helped you find it!

embryoguy, did I do okay??? You like them babies??? :D

Wow, there were probably a few hundred of the older ones (weanlings) in the tank I photographed. I didn't take a guestimate of the babies in the other tank!

But, I really did pick out a few that either you or I would like to have! I just have to wait a few weeks until my new Hex gets plumbed, so I can fill it (with existing system water). I'm sure many of them will be gone by then, but they just keep coming!

Have a great evening!

Boyd

Actually, a local guy started calling it Rod's Food and the name stuck!

I like your choice, but I really do use it for everything that's alive in my reef. With all of the stuff that's in there (I can tell ya, but then I'd have to kill ya!!!), it's almost all I have to feed!

It's not just the ingredients, it's how they are put together and in what order that give it the consistency. I've used a few others, but they just don't work the same way........
