Rod's Onyx

I would imagine that they are healthy enough to go straight iinto the display. I qt'd mine for 5 days to make sure there were no stress induced complications.

My onyx are not aggresive toward other fish at all. By the time I rec'd them they had already paired up. But the female does get after the male every once in awhile but I believe that normal since all women are bossy...

females are not bossy, its bec males want something, and they know it. so the male becomes submissive inorder to get it

One of my friends told me that my Onyx look stubby! I'm not sure if it was a compliment or a criticism. I didn't like it and took it as a criticism what do you guys think? He said that ORA offers a clown that is stubby which is a mutation. I think they look normal. Anyway, your opinion would appreciated about Rod's onyx...

I don't think that Rod's Onyx are at all stubby. Just look at the photo's and video posted prior in the thread to see for yourself as well.

I think anybody who owns Rod's Onyx or has seen them knows they are great looking fish.

I wonder if Rod ever thought that his fish would be this popular when he first got them? does anyone know if the broodstock he uses now are first generation breeders or descended from previous fish he had?

sorry my mistake.

they are not wc, but tank raised from Bill Addisons original stock. rods parents are either F1 or F2 generation. and his rodonyx are subsequently atleast F2/F3 .
