I really am intrested in getting a pair! I just hope he's still selling them by the time my tank is ready! (probably somewhere between 3-6 months)

Once you see the "babies" and the parent clowns, you will fall in love and walk out with 2! ;)
Don't worry, he'll definitely have some for you to choose from!

Yeah, I know...I have looked at this thread so many times. In my opinion the tri-color is so much more eye-pleasing then any other species or traits in clownfish. I just hope by the time I'm ready the price doesn't go back up to 75 (haha). Even though I'd still probably get them. I have another question though.
If I got two, I wouldn't plan on "breeding" them, so could I pick any two and put them togather (well, when I say any, I mean one large one small for male and female), or do I have to pay extra and get a specific "pair"? If I don't get the specific pair do you think they would end up liking each other?
Haha, sorry if my questions are confusing or a little "basic", but I'm new to this and I'm a person who "plans" a lot and I do everything I can to NOT run into any problems down the line.
Thanks.

you will be fine with what Rod gives you, as they will be sexless. I'm not sure how long it takes them to change. But of course all your questions will be best asked with Rod. He is full of onyx knowledge :)

the ones that I have ordered had already paired off in the bag before I even got them. I could tell right away which one was going to be the female.

Just my monthly update on my clown.

August ... just 2 weeks after the last pics taken his dorsal area is starting to fill in, its filled in all the way to the dorsal & the black inbetween the 2-3 stripe is thickining more.

sadly one of mine killed the other last night . i caught one chasing one around tearing him apart. when i separated them he was still alive but by morning he died.

might have been natural selection . even though the one that died was larger it had a deformed fin . The two fins that are under its head was actually one really big fin. maybe the small one recognized something was wrong and killed him.

hard to shell out another $70 and pay shipping again ,may just have to let him be lonely for a while : (

here is my own onyx I bought from bebo77 which he bought from rod

do you think my clown will develop fully?

just wanted to say rod is a seriously stand up guy . i contacted him to "buy" a new one and he is going to ship me a new one for free when they are ready.

not surprised.

ive collected clowns from people/vendors throughout the country. and ive always said, there is no risk buying Rod and his rodonyx.

its all about customer service that makes me spend my money with a vendor.

I have said it before and I'll say it again, Mr Beuhler is the man!!!
who would have thought this thread would have the response that it has. I think a mod should make it a sticky

Thought I would bump this with my first post and some pics
Just received my pair of Rods clowns today. It was because of this thread that I found the perfect pair of clowns. So thanks everyone for the great info.

Acclimated the clowns for 2 hrs using drip siphon. Within 30 seconds they were hosting my RBTA that I bought yesterday. Clowns and BTA eating out of my hand too. :)
