Actually, I think a little nudge might do it! He was talking this weekend about setting up one or two other LFS, but your are probably one of his best (and favorite) customers, so go for it!!!

I'm not kidding when I say that his food beat anything I could mix up on my own! :)

he simply knows what he is doing when it comes to clown breeding.

the ironic thing is, clown breeding is not even his specialty! apparently hes a sps fanatic.

Let me say, knowing eyes are watching this thread! I also wanted to correct my original thread. It may have come across when I was explaining Rod's pricing that not all of his clowns are true onyx. He told me that 98% of his clowns end up looking just like the clowns on his sight, and all of his clowns are true onyx!

Craig, since I live close enough to visit on a semi-regular basis, I get to see his livestock often.

While Rod is very careful about not offering any type of guarantee or promise on his clowns, I've never seen one that didn't eventually color up.

Most breeders would just give you the pitch and send em out, but Rod likes to wait until they mature a bit and start to show.

The scale pricing he used this weekend gave a few people a chance to get some young Onyx at a fabulous price. I'm sure they'll all get more than they paid for with a little patience!

They are still juvi's. I cant tell you exactly how young. I got them from Rod in later December of 05. The color hasnt exactly taken off on them, but I am not worried. They look a little diff. color wise because i switched to metal halides in the after pictures.

HAHA the 3 in my gallery are the best I got out of about 100 tonight. I thought he was gaping to start with, upon closer inspection I noticed it was black lips. I think thats just awsome! I could not be happier with him now!!!!

he use to have more pics of the brood stock on his site, but i checked recently and they are no longer there.

if yours is dev. a black mouth at this early age, maybe its entire face will be black as an adult lol that would be interesting :)
