Rod's Onyx

I am so lucky to have gotten one of his last few clowns.

The strange thing is that one day I called to check on the availability for shipping and he said he wasn't shipping at that point. Less than a week later I saw that someone ordered a pair so I called immediately after I read that and got one of the last 12 or so left.

The clown is about 1/2 inch long and has half of a stripe and some black forming already. I have him in a breeder cage so he doesn't get into to much trouble or get bullied by my picasso perc that's about three times his size. He does get out to explore for about three hours a day when I am willing to sit there and drool over him and my picasso and break up any fights.

fish02 - Let him roam free. That he will get his butt kicked yeah for sure. It be a few days maybe weeks before the fighting stops. I introduced my little ones to their long life much older partners last week. First days were awful to see them get beat, but they are now McLoving it

As much as I would love to see him roaming free, that's not going to happen until he gets a little larger. I have had two of Rod's onyx before both of which were eaten by my cleaner shrimp. The first one was getting along beautifully with my picasso then I went to the store and I come back to see my cleaner shrimp eating out his gills. The second onyx was even better because he was hosting my hammer with my picasso for eight days. I mowed the grass for an hour to come back to see him getting eaten by my cleaner shrimp. I refuse to let that happen to this new guy. Someone said that the cleaner didn't attack and kill the other two onyx, but I refuse to buy that. Luckily the cleaner that ate my other onyx is dead for some mysterious reason, I didn't have anything to do with it, honestly.

If I can find my crappy 2 megapixel camera I will get a crappy picture for you guys and gals.

Maybe I will put my cleaner shrimp into the cage and let the onyx roam free.

GSMguy what was the outcome of your carpet anemone?
Beautiful fish by the way.

Thank you
It was doing well and while i was away on vacation it wandered into a Tunze nano stream with the shroud cut and was really torn up, since i was not home to mend it i had my Tanksitter put it in the trash. :(

I have been thinking about trying another one now that i dont have any SPS anymore.(Alk Swing)

I ordered a New Tank Recently that is going to be a BTA species tank with a few Clams and LPS

Alright after enough pestering i have secured some photos of my Rod's Onyx. They are about 7 months old as you can see the female has almost fully colored while the male is just beginning to show his third stripe and black behind his second bar. Females names Kendra and the males Kimbo Slice (google it if you dont know).

Thank you very much they appreciate the compliment im sure! Yes they are very stocky and are quite the pigs when its feeding time. i wont lie my mother came by my apartment with a 3K camera her hubby bought because he loves photography... so i got lucky with that one.
