Roger, anyone should I be concerned?

I bought this from a fellow RC member and he told me that he bought the pump new and has used it like this for some time. He says the pumps are not sealed and for me not to worry. the wires are not enclosed in the black wrap anymore?? Should I be concerned should I send them in?

Yes. I'd be concerned and would have been real nice for the seller to disclose this information ahead of time.

You should not use it like that. Water can get into the cable and make its way either into the pump coil or back into the drive unit. Either way, you could be heading towards a good fry-up.

That pump is not usable. It is low voltage so a serious shock or fire I would almost say is impossible but the pump will short in time and should be replaced. It could be a defect, it could also be a fish decided to snack on it (trigger, puffer)
