Roger, need help with Tunze ReefPack 200

Sorry don't know what happened,

My skimmer is not functioning properly, microbubbles from the bottom, very noisy, and keeps overflowing into the collection cup. Yes, its at the right height, if it were any higher, water couldn't overflow into the filtration unit.

Unplug it, double check that the pump is properly inserted and none of the baffles inside are damaged. It sounds like the jet pipe isn't on right or a baffle is broken. Start the skimmer with the venturi closed and then open it up 2.5 turns to start and give it a few days. The noise is a result of water in the venturi line, maybe you can drain it when you open it. Otherwise in a few days the water should be gone and the noise. I just set one up myself and it was a bit noisy the first night because I set it too deep and started with the screw open and it sucked in some water and it gurgles in the tubing.

I took it apart, and the air tube did have some water in it. The tube was also all "liver-looped," so I think it was dirupting the "flow." After adjusting the air tube, it seems to be functioning normally, ie. hasn't overflowed. It's still a little noisy, but we'll see after a few days. I may try and unplug it again and maybe let the air tube dry out so there's no water in it.
