Hi

My name is Roger and I live in Norway, and here is my little reeftank.

First some pictures of the building process. Like many of you will see I found my inspiration from the fantastic thread "reef in the sky", and I was trying to make my tank look something as close to that as possible. Not even close, but close enough that I am happy with the result:)

gorgeous work and very meticulous planning. I love it.

Thank you:) I did spend quite some time planing this, so its nice to get some positive feedback:)

Wow. Love this!

Thanks:)

awesome setup

Thanks:)

Stunning Tank, I really like the minimal rock work design.

Thank you, Yeah my plan all the way was to have an open aquascape with lots of room for the fishes to swim, and for the corals to grow.
I have a small base with the rocks towards the bottom to try to get as good flow as possible.

Now I am waiting for some new fishes, that hopefully will arrive the following week.
And I am also looking for more frags to put in, but I must always remember to tell my self to take baby steps, and not rush things:)

Really nice setup and your low profile hood is particularly intriguing. How many centimeters tall is it? The reason I ask about your hood is because I have a tank with similar dimensions and same ATI fixture but my 9 year old daughter complains that the ATI light is too intense when she looks at the tank. In other words, it bothers her eyes. I am thinking that a low profile hood like you have here would not only look pleasing but would help keep the brightness of the ATI from my daughters eyes. What are your thoughts about this idea?

The top frame is 10cm tall.
Yes I think that may help, if you look at closely at my pictures you can see that the tank is sitting close to the tv, and when I watch tv I don`t find the light to be intense at all. And I have also tilted the light fixture a little bit so maybe that helps a little bit aswell. At first maybe just test with some cardbord or something to see if your daughter finds it more easy on the eyes with something blocking the light a little more. And if success then just build away:) Good luck!

Sweet setup dude

Thanks:)

Looks very nice.

Thank you:)

You have a beautiful tank Roger. I love your slide access for refilling the top off reservoir! Im totally stealing that idea. Im going to pick up a couple slides tonight.

Great build and tank.

Hey, thanks:)
Hehe, no problemo... steal away;) Just make sure you have some powerful slides, I think mine can handle 55kg each.
