Roger`s Lagoon

Wow! I am planning on building a setup I think around the same dimensions. I was planning an 120Gallon (48''X24''x24''), I did the conversions and yours seems similiar in size. I will definately be trying to model mine off of yours. I love the clean setup and the minimialist rock design! Do you have any plans for your stand?

Just an outstanding clean build, Tank is like a piece of art...congrats!

Thank you:)
Glad to hear that you like, my plan was to make it look good since it is in the center of my livingroom.

Nice to hear you like it too...:)
Yeah, you should be quite happy with that size I think. Personally I wanted the deepth to be more than in a standard tank, so I added 10cm to deepth of the tank. That made it possible for me to end up with the aquascape I wanted in the tank. Lots of swimmingroom for the fish, and easy to create good flow. And there is almost no places for detrius to build up in the tank.
Sorry, I don`t have any plans for my stand but I can post some pictures from the building process.
You will see on the pictures that I oversized the materials, but I didn`t want the centerbraze in the stand, so I went BIG on the top frame of the stand, just to sleep better at night;)

Here are some pictures from the building process. Maybe you get some ideas... Good luck, and I hope you start a building thread of the tank.

Very nice mixed of LPS and SPS, plus sand bed and not too less fish numbers!!!

Your SPS grow is amazing!!

What is the final top material? It almost looks like Berber carpet...
I don`t know the english word for it, but it is some kind of foam material that is normaly used when going camping:)

I love it! Great job!!

Thanks:)

Thank you, I`m planning of adding more fishes in the following month.
And the big Galaxea at the bottom has to, because he is sending sweepers all over the tank and burning other corals.
I also have plans of changing the big rock with zoas with something else.... need more room for sps:)

Beautiful tank and nice setup. Could you give us some information about your maintenance and yourvdosing regime? Any updates with the new fish?

Excellent work.

Thank You:)

Yes, I try to keep things as simple as possible.
I replace rowaphos and carbon once a month, they are keept in filter bags in the sump.
The tank has soon been running for 1 year, and I have only changed 750L of water since startup. aprox 50L at each time, seems to be working for me:)
I try not to feed so much, but all my fish are healthy and not thin or fat.

I dose 300ml pr. day of ca, mg, and kh. I think I soon must adjust this, because things are growing good....
I also strugeled a little bit with cyano on the sand, but now I try to skim wet and I have had it under control the last months.

Having some adjustment problems on my Deltec lately, so now I`m looking into buying a Bubble king skimmer.... but need to do some research first:)

On the fish side, I have recently added a pair of Bangaii Kardinals.
And also I added a sandsifting seastar.
I have placed an order for a RedSea Reagal angel, and a Marine betta. So hopefully they will arrive soon:)

Other maintaince is just the regular scraping of the glass once a week or so... making RO water, filling up the balling containers...... All in all I will say that I don`t have much work at all with the tank. I get to spend most of the time in front of it just enjoying the life on the other side of the glas:)

Ps. I also added a Chalice and some Ricordeas;)

Here are the Ricordeas...

And I also replaced the light bulbs... still running the same combo

Happy reefing!

How are you keeping the Xenia under control??

Manual peeling when I see it is growing places i don`t want it. Bought myself a special pliers so I get good hold of the base on the xenia and the entire base comes off when I give it a good tug. Pretty easy to keep it under control that way I think. I usually do this with a couple of months between.

New pictures:)
