hey,

in my 55g reef i have....

kole tang(2 inches)
flame angel
2 A. ocellaris
1 yellow clown goby
1 green clown goby
1 fire shrimp

reef is 7 months old...params have been steady for months(Knock on wood).

so is there any room for another addition??

if so what do you reccomend?

thanks

I don't think so. I'd recommend getting rid of the Kole Tang as he needs a lot of swimming space and will get 7" or so when full grown. After you return the Kole to the store, you could get two more 3" - 4" fish. Just my opinion.

Never said that. I said a 7" Tang is too big. Tangs need open swimming space. Also, they produce more waste than smaller fish.

how long do you think it would take the tang to reach full length?
Ive got a yellow tang and a squirle fish in my 58.

I say keep the tang for now, it's still small. Besides, it will take some time before the tang starts to reach its full size. However, once the tang does start to reach it's full size I would consider finding it a more spacious home.

personatly I think a kole or a yellow is fine in a 55 gal, a 75 gal would be more ideal, but 55 is fine for thoes two species. I would say with the kole you are pretty much maxed out you might be able to get away with 1 more SMALL fish, maybe a small goby or something.

i didnt want to start a war with this on the kole...very healthy fish, lots of rock rocks to weave in and out of....i agree with amber.
