In Memoriam
I finally was able to successfully remove one of my RBTA's.
under no duress it measures across at least 8" and can and does expand larger.
it's linage is from Chris (cb747) original stock. I had it about 1.5 years and has split at least 5 times since I had it. it eats silversides, any type frozen food and flake.
Must be picked up today, (before 5pm) or no later then tomorrow evening After 7pm.
(Because I have him/her in a collection container as a temp holding cell)

asking ... $50.00

ok, Mike I will let you know.
I have 2 more But I don't know when I can get them to move to a easier place where they can be extracted.

I heard pointing power head, & i thought some peolple even use ice at the base. I have no experience so please dont do this methods untill someone like Chris or Larry chimes in.

been there done that...;) they're so embedded in the rock they will not move.
I'm trying now to keep the light off them. that worked for the one above..

If i need an RBTA to move make it very unpleasant for it to persuade it to move. Shade it, blast it with a powerhead. Any combination of things. When you can get to the bottom of the foot you can just pry it off gently using your finger nail or a credit card.
Hi Mike! LOL
Chuck your getting old.......... :)

Who the heck is Mike?
Dex, do you know?

Chuck is not even trying, I dont think he is maried yet.

No, it's the mind .. ;) but It has it's benefits though... (Giggity giggity goo)
I try to blame it on all them "souvenirs" I experienced while overseas in the Navy during the 70's :smokin:
that and working in the IT field for 24 yrs sure burns the mind out really fast ...:)
yeah, yeah,...excuses, excuses......

best way to get them to come off a rock is to hold the rock under the overflow return. The heavy steady pressure makes them move. I pull them off constantly like that, so often that I dont even worry about them getting attached anymore.

Barring that, powerhead is best imo,

Either way, the way to do it is to try and get a little of the foot to pull up, and them shoot water under it. The nem will keep pulling back and away from it.

LOL in other words

"in Montauk we BLAST EM OFF!" :D

If I ever get one to live for more then a month I will worry about this.
