very well except the ice caps kill the bulbs. the 2 years life from aquarium bulbs has to be a straight up lie. 6 months and they are pretty much gone.still fire and look good but the corals are showing me the lights are gone. got new bulbs yesterday and new ballasts that will run them properly. always been a problem with ice cap prematurely killing every bulb I tried except iwasaki. there customer service is second to none I have to admit but I can't see using them ever again.

Sorry to hear that Rob,you know all I have is Ice Caps. 400 watt x3,a 430,and a 660. I wouldn't know what to go to,and I don't have the $$ to change. I do know replaceing bulbs is killing me. One good thing I got a kick --- skimmer now,and I did sleep in a Holliday Inn Express last night. Ted

yeah I am trying to make this tank as efficient as I possibly can. I got some advance ballasts that are made to fire t5's the right way so I will be sure to start a thread about them once they are fired up but that will be a couple weeks at least. in europe they don't overdrive lights and still change them every 6 months to a year. I am not sure if they are using ballasts that fire them properly or not since they use modules alot and I can't get alot of info from over there. the bulbs will run cooler on these ballasts so hopefully I will get more life. holiday in huh?
ice caps are great for vho I know.
